Who is Bridgestone?
Bridgestone traces it's roots to two distinct companies. The Firestone Tire and Rubber Company of Ohio founded by Harvey Firestone in 1900, and the Bridgestone Tire Company of Japan founded by Shojiro Ishibashi in 1931.
The two companies merged when Bridgestone purchased Firestone in 1988, transforming the combined companies into the largest tire and rubber company in the world. The company moved its headquarters to Nashville in 1992 and currently employees over 50,000 people and operates 52 tire production facilities in North America.
Bridgestone remains committed to being a world leader in tire technology and providing world-class customer service. Bridgestone continues to commit to being an outstanding corporate citizen at the local community level.
